The Edremit Wetland Conservation team and our members are working together to protect approximately 250 acre wetland in Dalyan, Edremit through land conservation, scientifically-based ecological restoration and by building connections between people and the natural world. The wetland preserve includes tallgrass prairie, wetlands, and fens and is home to numerous important plant and animal species. The Edremit Wetland Conservation is a nonprofit organization and depends on your support to protect the landscape and wildlife of this life sustaining biome.
The Edremit-Dalyan wetlands are an important part of the local ecosystem, but they can be much more than a 600-hectare expanse of otherwise unusable land in the middle of an expanding community.
Our mission for the wetland is to conserve the natural ecosystem, prevent shrinkage of the wetland area due to housing needs, build a Wetland Park and a Water Institute as a space for community and educational use, and promote a sustainable environment in Edremit region.
In order for us to move forward with conservation of this area we need the government to know that the people of Edremit and around the world support our mission to protect this incredibly important biome.
